Hello. This week's blog could cover any topic and I want to tell you why I chose to study Theory and History of Art and why I love studying this.

As a child I was always fascinated by the "beauty" of works of art. I remember being in kindergarten when my teacher projects huge images of a couple of paintings, she showed us "Van Gogh's bedroom in Arles", "The Mona Lisa" by Leonardo Da Vinci, "Vertumnus" by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and others . Of all the paintings we saw, I remember that "Vertumnus" was the one that most caught my attention, since it was a very different portrait from the others. And this is the first approach that I had to the arts and its history, that I remember.

Later I grew up and experimented in different disciplines of the visual arts, and although I liked them, I was not passionate about them, so I stopped practicing them. And with that later I realized that what really fascinated me about art is knowing and understanding it.

On the other hand, at school I always liked the history subject a lot, it was my favorite and the one I performed best at. That led me to think for a while, that maybe I could study History, but as with the plastic arts, I was never completely convinced.

And during the last years of school I discovered the career that I am studying today, and that last year I decided to study. I chose it mainly because it mixes the two things that I like the most and that I am good at, and despite the fact that these weeks have been hard, I do not regret having made that decision, because I am passionate about it. And all the effort I put in every day ... it's worth it.
