Hello. This week's blog could cover any topic and I want to tell you why I chose to study Theory and History of Art and why I love studying this. As a child I was always fascinated by the "beauty" of works of art. I remember being in kindergarten when my teacher projects huge images of a couple of paintings, she showed us "Van Gogh's bedroom in Arles", "The Mona Lisa" by Leonardo Da Vinci, "Vertumnus" by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, and others . Of all the paintings we saw, I remember that "Vertumnus" was the one that most caught my attention, since it was a very different portrait from the others. And this is the first approach that I had to the arts and its history, that I remember. Later I grew up and experimented in different disciplines of the visual arts, and although I liked them, I was not passionate about them, so I stopped practicing them. And with that later I realized that what really fascinated me about art is knowing and u...

Blog 4: Education

Hi everyone! Today's central theme is education. When the word education is mentioned, the first thing I think about is how important it is for the advancement of a country. And the second thing I think about is who makes all this possible, that is, the teachers. I have always admired those who decide to dedicate themselves to teaching. How not to do it? How can anyone not admire the work of teachers? It is impossible, because they are the ones who prepare the future worker who will be an important agent for what comes next. Although most of us admire and think that teachers are very important, it is no secret that in many countries their work is poorly paid and does not receive enough support. For this reason, being a teacher also usually means sacrifices, unfortunately. That is why I hope that, in the near future, here in Chile as in other countries, they will finally be granted the recognition and pay that teachers really deserve. I'm very grateful and admired for each of th...

Hi everyone! Today I will tell you about my experience in a Catholic school. As I said, for most of my school education I attended a school that believes in the Catholic religion. Even though my school was not extremely Catholic, the masses were practiced on festive and important dates such as Easter, among others. in addition to having to attend a couple of masses in the school chapel on the eve of Holy Week. Time was also set aside for reflection and grapes and bread were shared with the companions. Another typical characteristic of a Catholic school were the typical prayers that were said before classes began. With my experience and my opinion, I conclude that there should be no schools that are guided by religious beliefs. I understand that for many families it is important to follow the traditions, but I think it is more important to show the children the options. and that when they are mature enough, they should be able to choose whether to put their faith in a religion or not. T...

Blog 2: Healthcare System

Hi everyone! How are you? Today's blog is about medicine. And taking advantage of this, I want to talk about an important news of these days and thus give it visibility. During the week that passed, many students and graduates of higher education (USACH, UCH, UNAB, among others universities) of the medicine career have been actively demonstrating because during the health crisis of covid-19 classes were taught online and this did not allow them to do their practice. Most of these students, who will be future doctors, have never seen a patient under the care of a doctor. They have not had the opportunity to practice what they learned and this is of great concern to the students. Because this can be very dangerous, both for your future patients and for themselves. These students are frustrated and what they are demanding today is a quick fix so that they are truly prepared to be good health workers. For my part, I give my full support to the medical students and send them my best wis...

Hi everyone! Today I will talk a little about suffrage and its main reason why it is necessary to vote. From young people they teach us that voting is decisive to improve the country in which we are born, and I totally agree. In my opinion, voting is the highest expression of democracy. The Vow is a "ritual" that in democracy is exercised only periodically and not every day. the elector at the moment of voting has only a fraction of power among the millions who vote. But democracy is the power of large numbers because thousands of units form a trend. and this trend will be the one that will make the important decisions for our country. decisions like: Who will be the next president? Who will occupy a place in the congress? Who runs my district? If a trend is majority, it has the right to govern, and if it is not, it has the right to oppose it within the limits established by constitutional norms. This is another exercise that democracy demands. It demands that the opposition ...
